• Move any tile by clicking and dragging the tile. While moving a tile, if you need a larger view of the Start screen move the tile towards the top or bottom of the screen to zoom out.
• Use your mouse wheel to scroll left-to-right through your tiles.
• Any Desktop shortcut or program can be pinned to the Start screen by right-clicking the icon and choosing Pin to Start.
• In the bottom right-hand corner of the start screen is a magnifying glass with tiles, click this icon to get a zoomed out view of your Start screen. In this view, if you right-click on a group of tiles you'll be given the option to name group, which can be useful if you have a group of related tiles (e.g. games). In this view, you can also click and drag a group to organize your tile groups.
• Create a new speed bump between tile groups by moving a tile to a speed bump.
• Resize any User tile or Live tile by right-clicking the tile and choosing resize.
• If there is a tile you want on your Taskbar, right-click the tile and choose Pin to taskbar.
• Show admin applications on the Start screen by clicking Settings in Charms, click Settings, and change the Show administrative tools from No to Yes.
• In Internet Explorer 10, you can also pin any of your favorite web pages to your Start Screen.

How to change USB drive icon ?

Are you tired of seeing that old and classic USB icon in My Computer ?
Do you wish to change your USB thumb drive’s icon to something cool and amazing ? In this article I will teach you the simple and cool computer trick to change USB drive icon of any pen drive.

To make you aware what this trick is all about, let us take an example of CDs. Sometimes when you insert any branded CD or DVD in your optical drive of your computer, you must have seen that drive icon of CD/DVD ain’t the default icon, which used to come earlier. Instead, the icon shown next to drive name in My Computer is similar to brand logo of CD or DVD which you had purchased. That’s what this article is all about, in this article you will learn to make your own ICON and set it to default icon of your USB Pen drive and make it look cool.

So, here we go,

Initial steps of changing USB drive icon :

Take or create one square image which you want to set as thumb drive icon exactly of60×60 or 90×90 pixels

Convert your image into .ICO extension file online from here

Once you have followed above step and your image of .ico extension is ready, you have to follow the next section

To change icon of USB drive, follow the given steps :

Step 1: Insert your USB thumb drive in your computer
Step 2: Open your USB pen drive from My Computer and paste the .ico file which you created earlier in root directory(and not in any folder) of your pen drive.
Step 3: Once you have pasted the .ico image in your thumb drive, rename the same image to fav.ico
Step 4: Launch Notepad and type the following code in Notepad

[AutoRun]
ICON=fav.ico
Step 5: Once you have type-in the above code in Notepad, save the file in your USB pen drive with file type as All files and save the file with name autorun.inf in thumb drive. Again, save the file in root directory and NOT in any folder of your pen drive.

That’s it, now the next time when you will insert your pen drive in computer, you will find it appearing with the icon which you pasted in it earlier.

How to Convert FAT32 to NTFS ?

Every storage device uses a File System, the way files and data are named,organized and placed in Computer. A USB Pen drive, Flash Disk, Hard Disk, Floppy Disk and Even Optical Disk or Memory Cards are File Storage Devices. These devices uses a File System which Organize, Place, Name and stores data and files on computer such that it is easily accessible to you. All these Files Storage Devices uses a File System which can be Either FAT32 or NTFS.

FAT32:- FAT32 stands for File Allocation Table. FAT32 was used in old days of DOS andWindows 98. FAT32 creates sectors in counting of 16, this means a File of Size 20, will be created in 2 sectors 16,4 which directly means the loss of 12 sectors.

As time passed Microsoft Corporation Introduced Microsoft Windows XP, along withWindows XP a new file system was introduced and it was called NTFS.

NTFS:- NTFS stands for New Technology File System. NTFS has benefit in the term ofSecurity and Storage. Unlike FAT32, NTFS creates sectors in count of 4, which means a File of Size 20 , will be created in 5 sectors i.e. 4,4,4,4,4 and here we have Zero loss of any sectors as compared to FAT32 where we had direct loss 12 Sectors.
